Well, i was bored today and decided to have a go at a pixel art car. This was the first real pixel drawing i've done and im bloody pleased with it:

I don't like your outlining style. Also the glowing effect is rather lame, you should have done it manually instead of using some photoshop things. (Pretty much defeats the point of pixel art) And you should try to make it look more shinyer. What exactly do you mean with "real pixel drawing"?

Hahahaha, I like Panda Power, and can someone explain to me pixel art? Is it just like, going one pixel at a time or what?

i like to use line tool sometimes as well! there are several kinds of pixel art as well my favourite is isometric...

Only pixel art tutorials you'll find on the net is about isometric. Imo isometric is boring. Things that ville and meandor create are nice and interesting. You just have to experiment on your own.

Well i found Wally where the special people in black are with their limos.

Ville's mod with the blue neon reflection under the car looks good but then is not pixel art as it is like a blur, and i mean you can't exactly do that on mspaint. All pixel art should really be able to be done on mspaint. You could do that blue blur on paint but lets say it would take precision and lot of time and intelligence/smartness.

The blue blur was done by Sam. He just removed it on his newer version. (and so did I)

Yea, i was thinking about having the neon, and decided to have it. I now think it looks better without. Ville, i love the interior and the shiney stuff but it just doesnt look like pixel art. Also the lines on yours are anti-alliased which i dont like because it looks more like something created in photoshop and stuff.

Make a car of your own then we'll see who is better (betting it will be you but still up to a challenge). Im gonna go do the interior like urs, but better.

It's called manual anti-aliazing, mister. Also, I've been doing pixel art for a bit over half a year now, I do know what pixel art is pretty damn well if you ask me. I'll make something completely of my own later.

it is looking pretty good but change the thing on the roof of the car and darken the back of the roof too with an extra dark line like ville did, and then shade the fire hydrant and maybe do something with the sidewalk :D

I am just doing this for my own fun!!!

Heres my little creation: And yes i did do the shading on the cylinder. Copy it in paint, zoom in and look for yourself. I just did 1 dot, space, 1 dot, space and so on.....with that color on either side of the selected color and did that over and over for each colour.

To make this car you will need:

*A Computer
*A mouse
*A graphics program (Paint is fine)
*Artistic talent (go to school)
*Ideas (use your brain)
*Practice (Google search and find tutorials and stuff)
*Examples (Again, search for stuff to look at)
*Start work!

PS: I know it doesnt have windscreen wipers, i might add them soon, it does have seatbelts although you cant see them.

I like isometric, im doing a tank at the moment :P.

EDIT: How the HELL do you do pixel art sand?

By picking a sand-like colour. Then picking one a bit lighter and one a bit darker. Then just place these randomly not too near each other. There is other ways too, it's all about what kind of sand you want. This is just the most simple method.

Woo, done the tank, i tried to do a soldier but failed miserably. Not as good as the car i dont think.
