I cant open the map editor, says it cannot initialize the directx graphics, says i need directx 8 or higher, i have the directx 9 SDK. What do i do?

Make sure you've installed the map editor in the same directory as Soldat, and that Soldat itself is working properly.

Also try MapMakerPlus (use forum search to find it).
