Communism is working for many countires right now, China, Russia, both of whihc are very strong, large countries with large influence over the rest fo the world. Do you think things like video games and TV would have been allowed to flouruih as they have if the world were communist. Not when there are people dying and starving of desease!!! All those funds and resources put into your enjoyment would be alternatively spent (albeit for a better cause) on things like food, medicine, medical and military research. That means No soldat.

papasurf, you made some points. but dont give me that, "no TVs or computers" talk. the soviet union made more technological advances than us from 1917 well into the 70s. and they had rebuilt their country from the ground up. after the czar was killed, the country's economy was in shambles due to WW1. under communism : the Kalashnikov rifles, first in space, RPG-7, T-xx series of tanks, nuclear powered subs (while less stable than the US's, they still had them). for communism to work in society today. a few changes and reforms need to be made to it. however, the basic idea that everyone should have a roof over their head, food to eat, and clothes to warm them is something i dont see how anyone can disagree with.

No matter how advanced a country is, countries with more people living there are bound to be more powerful. More people = mass production.

Look at the market right now! Go to a store and buy something. More than not, it will say on the back "Made in China". Mass production = power.
