Have you guys seen Soldat coming up in more and more places?
I was reading pc gamer some time ago, and it talked about
this chat thing. When I looked at the pic of the chat program,
I saw Soldat! The program was supposed to be for ingame chatting
for any game.

I thought this was pretty cool because I didnt think Soldat was that
popular.

Have you guys seen Soldat anywhere?

I saw it on G4 tv once. Just the name of it and a small picture.

I saw it reviewed in a Maximum PC once for a article on freeware

I see it on www.soldat.pl a lot ... O_o

Ok, ok, bad joke. No, I haven't really seen it anywhere, but I don't watch TV much and I don't read magazines. However, yes, Soldat is becoming very popular. As FliesLikeABrick said, his Soldat mirror got tons of hits after Soldat was on G4TV.

G4tv is a mix between G4 and TechTv.
G4 is just about games, TechTv is about technology and games.

I read it in APC magazine if I remember on th 1.05b days. It was on the CD, and it said it was a fun, addictive, 2D game.
That it is, too.

That was an article about "Xfire".
There's a topic about it somewhere, with a list of the nicknames of Soldat players.

IIRC there was a scan of that article and somebody we actually know was shown on the contact list ;)

Saw it on the games machine, one of the most popular PC gaming magazines here. But it was when it was still technically freeware, and it wasn't a review really.

I found it on a semi-random google search.

Worms:Armageddon fans like this game a lot, since W:A is only turnbased.

I was a regular at the team17 forums, then i heard about this... the rest is history.

I think it's kind of cool to realize that only a few versions ago, there were barely any servers, or not very many that were occupied. When you look at the Soldat lobby now, there are plenty of servers, and most of them are full / almost full.

There's no official review, so it doesn't have much traffic from there..

Actually, G4TechTV is now just G4: TV for gamers. G4TV.com was a show that is basically a live talkshow revolving around a forums for viseogames, featuring flame wars and call-ins and interviews with many videogame developers and celebrities. It's actually quite cool, and revolutionary for it's time.

I found it from so kid at school that was trying to set up a LAN game in the row behind me in the comp lab. Until the teacher and her tricky Altiris caught onto him and had to lock his account for like a week. But I asked what he was playin, and he told me to goole Soldat, and ta da here I am.

I havn't seen it anywhere else though. I try and get people I know to play, but they just go play liero and deserve a slap (or 3427678654)
