Ever since getting into an instrument myself, i've recently discovered alot of Soldat players are aspiring musicians themselves.

One thought led to another, and, how about we get some peeps together, and make a few parodies. Eh?

So far, this is what i'm aware of.

1. I feel incredibly nerdy and just a tad lame when considering making a song about Soldat. it's up there with disco dancing, discovering your zip was undone all day, and that time I sung Nirvana - Teen Spirit as loud as possible at a train station around midnight pissed out of my head.

2. I've just about exhausted any flames of creativity around soldat. Penguin gosteks, failed map attempts, comics, forum logos, fake images, the list goes on. This is the next step.

3. Sekushi, a fellow Soldater, is currently helping me out with a simple bass guitar and a synthesised drum thing to replicate a song I sent him. With a bit more help/instruments, it could be completed. Hell i'll even write the lyrics and sing if no one stands up. I've talked to others (Melba, n00bface, etc), and they suprisingly seemed interested.

4. Making music is incredibly fun and satisfying.


...so yeah. Are you good with an instrument? good with computer programmes that synthesise them? can you sing? write lyrics? got a song suggestion to mimic? or even your own fecking guitar tabs. Lets give it a whirl.

Either get on #soldat.forums on irc.quakenet.org , or slap a reply here, and we'll see what we can cook.

Aye I noticed grand_diablo's fantastic tune. In fact it was quite the inspiration for this. I still listen to it :D

A saxaphone could be handy too, depending on what tune's we'd end up making. I/we/the people i've talked to would like to make a whole array of styles. Being a harmonica player I wouldn't mind slipping in a bit of blues.


And that Beethoven composition is pretty cool. Volume ain't a problem either. Could perhaps get a few quick riff's, talking or singing from various players around here, then you could mix them all up Fatboy Slim style.

Just a matter of getting talented peeps, sharing your idea for a tune, then the rest of us can do some recording and have someone slap it all together. I'm working with Sekushi right now on a little Fun Lovin' Criminal remix we're using as a structure (just to get us started), meaning someone doing guitar, drums, singing, etc.. Sekushi is covering bass and drums, and maybe n00bface or Melba are doing the other guitar bits, the rest is yet to be determined. I wrote some lyrics though :)

Beh, my voice currently sucks, and I can't play nothing 'cept recorder. But I have an interesting concept: Start with a Monday song like g_d, use "I don't like Monday's", that could be a nice start. I would love to hear something mimic that!
