Savage is now available to everyone free! This game uses its own innovative Silverback engine, which excels in rendering outdoor enviroments, is quite on par with some of today's graphics. Play as a Soldier, and take part in the game's fighting, building, and mining aspects. Play as a commander, and lead your team to victory with stratagy and decisive actions.

Well, heres the info on how to get the files

First, download and install this, This will install the game itself:

Now, upgrade the game to version 2.00e:

Finally (Optional), download the user add-on patch, which basically gives players extra infomation to survive better on the battlefield:

The S2Games company have basically abandoned its cd key authorization server, so simply enter 20 Zeros, or "00000000000000000000" in order to start playing.

Yeah, I tried a demo version a while back but I had no idea what I was doing. I learned pretty quickly not to rocket spam and how to follow orders, but, beyond that, I haven't the faintest idea why I was doing what I was.

This is a like a mix of Starcraft(Commander) and some kind of 3d shooter game. Pretty fun.

I just went to the site and saw more screenshots. This game looks exhilarating! I've been looking for a new game to play. When are you guys on? Add AngelicS0LD13R to your AIM buddy list or xnorsex@hotmail.com for MSN (im never on my MSN)I think i'll start as a "soldier", and not as a "commander". I don't like the 3d form of "commander". It sounds too much like Warcraft all over again. So...add me to AIM, or PM me to get a game going.

If only I could find the screenshots where 20 humans were facing off against 20 beasts, with all their Bows drawn, waiting for the beasts to rush towards them....that was the coolest moment ever...and everyone was typing "Ready Bows!"

Yeah, now that I'm done remembering the good times...heres a few tips while playing:

- Money is the key to your success. No money = No weapons = No kills, depending on your skill, you can find some NPCs and smack them around a bit (Monkits are the best for this) to gain some money, as well as helping the commander's gold resource pool increase. If you're more advanced, you can try to kill some enemies, they drop much more gold.

- Try to travel in groups if you're heading the main path, only travel alone when you're heading in the back way

- If you're going to fight someone higher tiered then you (aka Looks bigger), unless you're really confident of your skills, try to engage them from long range then swoop in while they're weakened.

- Guard towers are not for infantry to attack, unless, you can get close enough to drop a demolition pack.

- Always take down a shield tower before engaging other buildings, it would make your life much easier.

- Sarcarfice for Beasts take 10 seconds to Attack.

- Storm Shield for Beasts can negage all splash damage (IE: Catapult rounds, Pulse Cannon)

Thats all the tips I can remember for now, have fun!

Hmm, how would you rate the graphics? (as in, are they as good as Half Life 2's, or worse?)

erm....graphics can vary, for me, since I have a PII 400 (Although equipped with a Geforce 4 MX 440, go figure) I can't turn all of the settings to max, but for an online game thats almost two years old, it beats the quake 3 engine by 2 miles, due to its easy modding ability, new maps are coming in all the time, as the game comes with an auto map downloader (The maps are small too, none of that 50 minute download for a map crap) It might be able to beat the UT2004 engine too, but they're really two different genres. Savage is much more oriented to rendering outdoor effects and the like.

The grass and sunlight effects are awesome. AWESOME

Downloaded it got ready to play......."Your video card is in pci mode" I go to the help it says to go which tells me to open system devices...do that. Tells me to click on the string that says "<something> processor to AGP controller". it's not on the list.Any help?I already updated my video card driver.

yeh, ive got a problem also, i can start it up and everything, and i see the intro movie, but when it gets to the part where you have to put in the cd key, the entire screen is white and i cant see anything, making it rather difficult to put in the key

Not sure, maybe your video card doesn't support it...This game would probably only work on Nvidias and Radeons, as well as some other higher end, more famous cards...sry to all the integrated gfx card guys

I'm going to tell you about my Savage Moment:

Game started with me going to the Beast team, and Yuk going to the Human team. Right at the beginning the Commander ditched us so we were behind in the tech race. Our next comm wasn't that good either, so we were barely holding on. We held on to half of the map after 30 minutes, and the same with the another team. But the humans are slowly winning over, as our lines get pushed further and further back. Finally, they've pushed us back all the way to our home base, which resides on the top of a hill. In comes their catapults, and I watched in dismay as they took down our techology buildings, one by one. We tried desperately to hold them off, but their legions of men overwhelm our puny Scavangers. Finally, I told the team to get their sacrifices ready, as they came into range, 5 Scavangers, equipped with a self expoldeing device, lept at amazing speed towards the enemy Catapults. The humans try desperately to kill the suicide bombers, but to no avail, one by one the Catapults fall, and the humans retreat to their base. Wave after wave comes in, and we managed to hold them off. Their fully teched units surrounded us, but we fought valiantly, Even the smallest of units went up against the big guys, hoping to take them down. Until finally, they started running out of resources. With their retreat, we started rebuilding our base and establishing our foothold. Finally, we reached the human base, and went on to win the round. That bloody battle took a total of 2 hours. o.O

That's totally awesome. :O

i downloaded it but there are no servers up, i tried the find game button but nothing, is this because there is no games or because im doing somthing wrong

It seems that the main master server is down at the moment, they're fixing it, but if you've downloaded the optional EX2 enhancement, you should be able to find a checkbox in the options menu that says "Alternate Server List" Check that, and you should be able to see the servers again.
