Is the game playable at that speed?

Barely. If you get lucky, you might get a passable speed, but expect a lot of complaints about lag, and ping disconnects.

In my experience, anyway.

i have dialup, it's no biggie, i just always expect ping from 300-1200. in fact, lagging gets kinda fun. good for infiltration.

My friend has dial-up,and he gets 300 ping in EVOs RS server.All you need is a good regular server somewhat in your general location or Country and you'll get low ping.

@rabidhamster: dude. i have 1 meg dsl and i get 200-300 ping (thats probably cause i play in europe, me thinks). youve seriously gotten only 300 ping with 56k?

on a very good server i get ping down to 33
averagely though, it's around 66 or 116... and then i get them stuipd lag spikes for like 3-8 seconds with an unbareable ping! (over 1000)

my ping is about 250ms and i mostly get no lag with it (when i shoot it hits)

i have dsl, dont know what the exact speed on it is, but the thing is, i only play in servers that have low ping, so i guess im pretty lucky to have low ping in some good servers

I have played on a 56k modem and everyone started whining about the lag so I suggest you tell your friend to get DSL or another type of high speed internet access.

i know a bunch of ppl that play on dialup and get under 300ms ping often

when i had dial-up i usually got around 250-300 ping in u13. with DSL i get around 16-120

I used to get pings from 150-200 since I lvied in New York and thats where the u13 server ran.

i have dialup and i am fine. I am actually a good player. i get ping from 100-300. thats not alot at all. Dialup shouldnt be a problem.

I play with 56k on deathmatch and i get a ping around 150, wich is within tolerance. Just loook for T1 servers and he will be just fine :)
