Yes. You must have Soldat 1.2.1 installed prior to running the application.

Wha? Lol... you should notice the changes immediately. THat's what my friend says. If it doens't work try running it on a different computer and make sure your internet connection is up. Firewalls might stop the new version from running.

I scanned it with Norton Antivirus and then AVG. Even with the UPX encryption there wasn't any virus detected. The update works great. Thanks Ele!

The link was to a simple program that I made in C++. It simply displayed a list of all the soldat files and then a bunch of stuff about injecting processes into svchost and modifying the boot record. Just a scare tactic.

Tip of the week: Don't download just anything. That could have been something more than a practical joke. You might have actually contracted a trojan and I would have access to all your unimportant documents and lude pornography.

If you really want to secure your computer, download an antivirus, firewall and IP Blocking tool. My personal favorites are Avast Antivirus, Zone Alarm and PeerGuardian. There are numerous other security measures you can take for Windows XP, a lot of them recently unclassified by the NSA.
