Well it has been the same thing for quite a while.. and I had nothing else to do at 3:00 AM.. so I decided to make one myself. Its a shame the contest forum is locked.

I like it. Getting a continue for it would look difficult though. What 'is' that in the backround, a map ?

Btw theres a specific forum for forum logos...it hasn't been used since the last one was put up though. My one in fact! It's been too long to be honest...getting sick of green.

I don't like the gore.

i liked our really really old soldat forums logo the most if anyone remembers it

since you're getting a lot of negative feedback,

i think it's pretty cool. the only thing that would be hard to make is the filler.

That's awesome! Can't tell any difference between the two filetypes. The only thing bad about it IMO is that the edges don't blend in with the forum's BG color; give it a border with that color.

That looks very nice! Add some Soldat things in it and it would be great!

Looks pretty cool. To make it more "soldatish" you could have a spraypaint thing of the ragdoll..

Wow, i love it looks awesome with the gore/blood and the text too very nice job Mancer :P you make that with Photoshop by the way?

Yeah it looks pretty good, I wouldn't mind seeing it up there.

I like the one that we have now way more. Yours shows nothing about Soldat besides the name (*couch couch* a tad bit...trendwhorish too)
But maybe we could have the rotating logo thing back up, or allow you to choose your own.

Its good, but it doesn't match the colors of the forum itself as of right now.

he does have quite a bit of the blue in the backround, i think it matches...i mean what goes better with blue, red and blue, or green?

Whoa! I love it (the whole one; the latest one). It's a big improvement from the first one and it fits very well, in my opinion. Good job.

don't you need a "continue" image after the main logo? like something that is a pattern like the one we have right now (the grass).

It is 2 seperate images. The one I posted repeats across the browser, so even if you shrink your browser size, you can still see it continuing. But on the other hand, urs will be cut off (I think).

And I don't mind having it as our new forum logo.

Yeah Styx had me make a 'repeater' image because people use various resolutions to view the website. The repeater fills in the gap, and I think thats why it's stayed up there for so long because most the other logos had none.

i think you still don't quite understand. Use the first part (img) of the logo. Then make a repeater, so it will be a 'set'. Right now the logo is too long and the repeater won't come in effect much.

I noticed you have your mod there, by the health ;)

But it can still be used when its that long.. right? ;/

Nice logo, but haven't you invented like...ten new colors of grey and brown. To me it looks a bit confusing, to much effects. I would say, keep it simple and plain :) very nice work anyway :)

it's for the 56k users. That's why the sig is limited in size also. At least make it <20kb

With all those signatures and avatars, i don't think the 160kb header is going to make the diffrence. Tough you could simply lower the quality like this :

The size of the file doesn't matter much, people are going to visit the site and have to download it once. From then on, it's cached and they won't have to download it ever again (unless they're an unfortunate soul that's turned off caching).

It's only a problem with sigs and avatars because those can change very frequently with many people changing them all at once.

I love the new idea for a logo, by the way. But this should really be in Forum News and Support and you should send a PM to Styx to see what he thinks instead of relying on us.

Hey mancer ... you do realise that if you use that new forum logo [tis' very well done] the forum needs a new colour turn over ... and also, if you use photoshop, you can save the image as a 'web image' thus givin the file an increadibly small size [probably 15kb at the max] and still have EXCELLENT quality, and when i mean excellent, i MEAN no changes at all [eg. a same file with size of about 800kb will have a file size of about 90kb max if saved as a web image and STILL have the EXACT same quality, any changes are completely unrecognisable ... size of image remains the same]

1) I'm sorry, I replied at the end of page 3 not realising there was a 4th.

Unless you make a filler image for 710 pixels wide image, I doubt it would go through. 939 pixels is just too much for the low resolution users.

Well, I thought this was great until I saw that(^) pic....

Yeah it does look a bit odd. Ideally the forum logo should merge with the colour of the forum itself.
Maybe it's time for a new forum colour?


Still, I think that logo would personally look great with just the words and the little soldat's running around. None of the backround. Maybe just some of the stains too.

I think it looks realy great. . . . But, I dont think it fits, its just a little too busy :-/

It doesnt need to get smaller.. its under 30kb as it was and with better quality.

Dont change the forum colors, I like them as they are. And _Mancer_ I like this new one alot better. And If I was to do somthing it would probably be pixel art like in my sig ;) So I prolly wont enter :p

Its going to be noticable no matter what, it isnt going to look like the current one because the current one is just simple grass.

Wow, actually looks very nice. Think about changing the forum colors to match this, DNA.styx - one man's opinion is inferior in the face of many...

Very very nice, lol Nice job mancer. And about the repeater, You can sorta notice its a repeater lol, If you make the grass all over the polygon, So the grass at the end of the repeater touches the grass at the start of the next repeater, it wouldnt look as much as a repeater. :p

i dont like the grass on the repeater, it sticks out too high making it look like crap whe nit keeps repeating
