Ever see those anti-drug commercials about people saying what helps keep them off drugs and streets and in school?

Well, my anti-drug is Soldat!

The thought of killing sprites has diverged me from taking anti-depressant medication, and instead I play Soldat whenever I feel lonely or sad.

Thanks soldat, I could've been a druggie, but now I'm a soldat addict. But hey, it beats depression anyday!

Now to work on those grades...MM, got any placebo for that? :)

Drugs are way better then soldat.
And Soldat does get boring after you can kill everyone in a server with ease, in other words 5 days of playing, its best played after breaks from it I find.

Soldat isn't addicted, perhaps for a few days when you're a newbie and everything is new to you. For older players it's more of a need to kill (own) few people and enjoy watching tons of blood flying everywhere. You know, kinda like when you need to go to a bathroom.

Funny, I always thought Cocaine and Heroin (the latter in particular, which is why you have to inject it into your blood) had to introduce a Chemical into your body and the 'high' would only last for as long as said chemical is in your body. Ecstasy, merely realises Serotonin (and other chemicals) which does the rest of the job, probably explaining why Ecstasy has one of the longest 'highs'.

Hitman, you're still a little confused, so let me try my best to explain it to you.

Cocaine and Heroin do have to introduce a chemical into your body that will augment the process by which your natural chemicals are released and recepted. However, it isn't Cocaine that is making you feel high, it is your natural body chemicals which are forced to bind with receptors at a higher rate than usual (Heroin actually mimics your own natural chemicals, but it's basically the same thing). Your body won't do this alone (to this magnitude) unless you have an orgasm. Ecstacy is no different -- you have to introduce a chemical into your body in order to make your body behave in strange ways; and once that chemical has been digested by your body, then you'll stop feeling high.

Ah ok. So it's basically the same as Ecstasy (as far as introducing Chemicals, releasing them, etc).

So, then, how come these drugs more dangerous than E?

Imo, its not important which drug u use while u still enjoy it. The problem is when you continue using certain drug even when u cant find anything in it.

For me, soldat was a REAL drug, i felt terrible withought it.

It can be footbal, music, mariuana, speed, extazy, religion, whatever, all the same.

Just stop it when you dont enjoy it anymore!

Hitman, here's where my knowledge of the subject begins to wane, so anything I say isn't with certainty.

I believe the difference is in how you metabolize the drug. For instance, one might be processed in the liver (cocaine, for example) and, over time, cause damage and complications; while another might just be deposited in the intestine without actually interacting with any filters in the body. Another problem with metabolizing drugs is that the process can release undesired chemicals and those chemicals may do the real damage. Other potential problems could be undesired side-effects such as hormone release, damage to a nerve cell, or interaction with other natrual or artificial drugs already in your body.

I was trying to think of one example that I knew and I was sure that ecstasy, a relatively harmless drug (it does do damage, that much I know, but not to the extent of other drugs), actually did the exact same thing as another extremely dangerous drug. But I can't remember what that other drug was or why there was a difference.

There are also huge problems when mixing drugs. Cocaine and Heroin produce wildly erratic reactions that are generally fatal. Cocaine and alcohol mix to create cocaethylene, which will severely damage your heart. And any drug can be laced with other chemicals to either enhance the experience or get you hooked and those other chemicals may cause serious complications.

If you're already taking medication and you want to continue to take drugs, you should really consult a doctor. They're under the obligation to give you information about that stuff (at least in the US) and it's really good to know if the drugs and medication that you're taking may kill you.

(I don't know why, but cocaine seems to be the source of all evil in this discussion)
