Well I'm into Hip-hop music. The old skool rap is even better, since most of it was a bit less on the nedless profanity. Nevertheless, I still like my DMX ;) He has a great hard voice for rap...
And maybe some Eminem cuz he makes me laugh lol.

*everyone stares at me oddly*

Oh yeah... I also listen to random other music that I hear on the net. Sometimes I get hooked to songs I've seen around the internet. An example of some are...

O Fortuna (Uh that uhh....opera like song...)
Dragostea Din Tei (Remember the Numa Numa dance?)
Tootsie Roll (by 69 boyz)

Yeah and some other random crap.

I'll just post genres and a few notable bands/players of those. Too many bands to list, and if I try, I'll probably forget a few. So here goes:

Classic rock: Especially Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Rush, and The Who, among many, many others.

Metal: When it comes to metal, I'm very "elitist," one could say, as it's pretty much my favourite genre. I like the old metal acts like Black Sabbath, AC/DC (some lable them as classic rock, though), Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Iron Maiden (favourite band), and Judas Priest, among others.

Underground hip-hop: I got into this because of Marb and Fab's influence: Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, Ascetic, Cunning Linguists.

Techno: Few artists here: Darude and The Prodigy.

Misc: The Lord of the Rings soundtracks, The Mortal Kombat soundtrack, Enya, and Muse.

Just because it "screams and growls" doesn't make it death metal.

I take it you mean that I've no idea what I'm talking about. I've sampled almost every "hardcore", "death metal", and "nu metal" bands that came out and haven't found much interest in the genre except for some notables such as Children of Bodom and Dimmu Borgir, among others. We have differen't opinions. Put up with that, and don't hurl idiotic retorts like this in an attempt to get over a discrepancy which you cannot concieve to be true without the subject (me, in this case) having no idea what he's talking about. This is a musical discussion, you should have figured out you'd see different tastes.

Yet you fall into the deep realms of this corrupt system. Music is music, there are different kinds rythms that define's this state, and if you primarily look at the genre's and the categories in which its put in you dont know (Please refrain from swearing) about it.

I just mean to say that there is more to Death Metal than growling. If you want to effectively use genres than you have to know how to define them.

b00sta, I never knew you listened to Aphex Twin and Squarepusher. I always wanted Richard D. James to produce a rap album. Just out of the blue produce some new album by like...the Game or something. Heh. The Game.
Anyways, here's my own list of bands.
I like Fugazi and AC/DC the most. Probably my two favorite bands. I like Minor Threat alot too.
Also:
Pink Floyd
Angry Samoans
Dead Kennedys
The Clash
McLusky
X
Gang of Four
Wire
Black Flag
The Presidents of the United States of America
old school Beastie Boys (Paul's Boutique especially)
N.W.A. along with Eazy-E's solo stuff
old funk like Parliament-Funkadelic, Ohio Players, Herbie Hancock (Headhunters and whatnot), Johnny "Guitar" Watson
Miles Davis
Coltrane
Arcwelder
Big Black, Shellac and anything else with Steve Albini

Don Caballero

I'm open to pretty much any style of music as long as it has integrety. And doesn't bore me.
So there's my list.
