Well, I'm at someone else's house visiting right now, and soldat isn't working on their ME operating system. It works at my house, with XP, but not here. I can fully install soldat up to the point where I decide my preferences(full screen and etc). Whenever I try to open the Config, dedicated server, or soldat itself, I get an error that says:

"A required .DLL file, D3D8.DLL, was not found."

I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times. We've also done a complete system restore and reinstalled the operating system, and still the same problem. The only things I can possibly think of is that I dont have DirectX 9.0 installed, or Soldat is justn ot compatible with the ME operating system.

If anyone knows about simillar errors or how to fix them, answers are greatly appreciated.

Contrary to what most believe, Windows ME is a good OS, and Soldat does work with it (its what I play on).

Try to update your friend's video card drivers. They may not fully support Direct X with the outdated drivers.
