When I run a server on my lan and connect to it ( my ping is mostly 0 ) I get 5-10 "Connection problems" message every 5 minutes or so. Other players get those messages too. Often I have to leave and rejoin the server because the game seems frozen.

Needless to say that it didn't happen in the previous versions.

I've been seeing this for quite a while. Because of this, I limit the servers to 10 people each and the problem goes away. I can run six 10 player servers without a problem but can't host one 16 player server.

my appologies straight off... [i've been away from the forums for about a week, since i've been away (yes, it was fun), so maybe i'm behind on what's exactly happening.]

but, you must route the correct ports [23073, 23083] to the correct computer if you are behind a router.

The new version of the game also does a lot more processing on the packets that are sent and recieved. This be bad news for slower servers.

sorry posted in the wrong section lol

newayz i told some1 in the us using ICS with a switch to try a port relocator (relocating ports 23073 and 23083 UDP) from the server of the network to the client IP so they could set up an internet soldat server on one of the clients but it didnt work (couldnt connect to it). now shes switching the networks client and server around to fix that problem but any idea how i could have gotten it to work?

Just played for 15 minutes on the DNAGames server from our LAN with 6 bots (CTF) and my ping was between 0-16-50, no spikes. CPU usage was fairly high (average of 40%) (server's a 1.4Gb/513Mb)

Styx. I can run a game with 20 bots and see zero problems. The game runs smooth as silk.

The problem is when there are more than 10 players. Bots vs players is the same as comparing apples and oranges.

Also, I would say a ping of 50 on a LAN with cero players is a spike.
