Ever since the jump to 1.3, Ive noticed quite a drop with servers and there seems to be some sort of noticable lag in many matches I play. As opposed to 1.2.1, I had many servers available and many were lag free, Im running on dsl so my connection isnt a problem, what could be?

First of all, the majority of servers is still running Soldat 1.2.1 because they don't know about the new version:
1.2.* servers: 147
1.3 servers: 113
43.461538 % of 260 servers are using 1.3

and because of your lag problem: just wait until there are more servers available. Don't forget to sort the server list by ping.
