Well here's my new map. I'm unsatisfied with the outcome, I thought I could do something better with the snowy-ctf theme, but whatever.

Spawns placed so it's hard to get out of the base alive alone.

Wow! i really like the colors of it, all of them (save the bright blue) seem to work perfectly with each other very nice choice
The layout of it is simple and works very nice...nuthin special but very worth of pointing out as it works quite well

...Im downloading as i type and ill be sure to update my post as soon as i play through it a couple times

looks nice, but Im for a boosting barrier, since this maps looks like boosting will be supereffective on the upper side

The water is too blue I think.

Thing is, if someone goes boosting over top route by attack, he'll die when he tries to come out. So I don't recommend that to anyone ;)

Where do the soldaten spawn at?

Very nice map, the atmosphere is fantastic and the shading is well done.

I agree with you, the shading is really good and the bridge in the middle too.

The bottom colors look funny (the bright blue stands out a tad too much).

And also, perhaps the lower part of the top islands should be a tad darker?

Very good map, IMO
