Since the image is what it is, can the background color of the forums be changed slightly to match the main color of the image(s) in the header?

or perhaps a thin black border around it

yeah that would help just as much, one or the other though. don't match the colors and then put the border around it :P

or recolor the image instead

Well, i quite aggree. It kind of hurts my eyes.
I pretty much would like to see it like THIS or something similar.
