A lot of people have dedicated servers, and uses hard memorizable IP when giving info to other players, DragonSlayer and I provide a free DNS hosting service for any server/clan to get their own hostname to point to their IP.

If you want one, fill the form below and post in this topic, or PM me, or talk to me on IRC @ QuakeNet (nick: unclerami) I am on #alterego and #soldat.gather for example

Hostname: xxx.soldatcentral.net or xxx.gwsoldat.net
IP to point: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

If you have many servers and want to group them under one group, you can ask the hostnames to be something similiar to:
serv1.xxx.soldatcentral.net
serv2.xxx.soldatcentral.net
anything.xxx.soldatcentral.net
Anything goes.

Here are the ones we currently host:

ae.soldatcentral.net => 84.254.75.8
gather.soldatcentral.net => 84.254.75.8
eu.gw.soldatcentral.net => 84.254.75.8
us.gw.soldatcentral.net => 205.138.194.9

eu.gwsoldat.net => 84.254.75.8
us.gwsoldat.net => 205.138.194.9

This has nothing to do with port.
For example, our AE/ server runs on 23317, so to join the game we use
ae.soldatcentral.net:23317

I am one of those few people who want to have a Soldat-related hostname for my Soldat server. :)
