White is the mix of all colours, while black doesn't reflect light at all, that's why you see it.. black. It swallows light, that's why it isn't a good idea to wear a black shirt on a sunny day, you'll fry.

your retarded you know that 7th grade sience class tells you the difference between light and art in art mixing all the colors gives you black in light all the colors become white. in light no light is black God they are 2 totally opposite things dumbass

At cooz and a-4-year-old, white light is all colors mixed together. You can see this if you take a red a blue and a green light and shine it on a white background. This, I believe, is called light addition.
Paint, on the other hand, is light subtraction. Paint works because it only reflects the color that it appears to be while absorbing all others...thus, when you mix all the colors of paint together, you tend to get a really dark brown.
