Hey, um, I'm kind of new, and I just downloaded Soldat. Very fun.
But, after checking out the Map thing to make the maps and such...
I open the program and get an error message, "Could not kind banana."
And there's nothing in the scenery box.
Was I supposed to save it in the same folder as Soldat?

AHA!

move mapmaker to soldat\mapmaker.

when you get more experienced, try anna's polyworks (look in the "fan apps" section of the forums). it's a great program, and is very versatile. plus, it can do cool stuff like load more than one texture, and snap to grid.

EDIT: <throws an "i win" glance at diablo, then stuffs a fourth hamster pellet into his cheek>

Yes, the path of the Mapmaker is usually X:\....\Soldat\MapMaker

PS: Id recommend Mapmaker+ (see Developers Corner) or PolyWorks (see Fan Apps), as the original MapMaker is quite outdated and lacking several features compared to them. Whatever of the two others you gonna use, always compile your maps with PolyWorks.

EDIT: Evil hamster! The thread is in the wrong section btw :)

I would suggest you go straight to using PolyWorks since the interface is more similar to other general programs you may be used to using (paint, photoshop, etc.).

You have to download the map maker first.
