Let's start with crouching. You hold the crouch button to crouch, and release it to return to a standing position. Quite intuitive, right?

On to going prone. To press the X button (or whatever) to go prone. To get up again, you have to press it again. In the heat of battle, it's MUCH simpler to just release a button than to have to find it and press it again. So why not make prone work the same way as crouch?

Obviously, the substantial time needed to make the switch from prone to standing is important to game balance. I'm not saying that delay should be eliminated. The idea is simply that the act of standing up would be begun by the release of the prone key rather than the re-pressing of it.

In order to keep from taking away a feature that some people enjoy, this could be made an option. Many games already allow you to enable or disable a toggle for the crouch or prone position.

It's easy enough to hit it for me, my pinky rests on the prone button(right ctrl for me)no matter what direction I'm going. Maybe you need to reconfigure your controls to better suit your needs.

yeah, I reset mine to c (as in all games i play) and it's very easy to do that...plus you can just turn around and your guy will stand up. lol

hmm... nah, i like the prone how it is now. why? well coz: if ur camping, u just need to press it once.(holding would be frustrating)
and how on earth u suppose to prone fly again?

Well, that's why I said, make it an option rather than an enforced change.

You do relize to stand up from prone all you have to do is put your mouse behind your soldat right? You don't need to press prone again

good point /is still dont think this should be as a options either.

It would be ok as an option, but I'd still prefer it the way it is now.
but I would like to see an option for crouch hold/toggle.

This should be added, it'd make superman sawing easier. (which is the only thing I use prone for)

That works fine when you're not in a fight, but I've gotten killed many times because I took the reticle off my enemy to get up and lost a half second of firing.

same keys as me i like prone as it is and i think the makers of the game have better things to do
