I'm guessing that when you say 'dark side' you are implying to weapons that are more powerful than most the other weapons and are more frequently used. It's incredible rediculous to divide the weapons in soldat like that, the 'dark side' and the 'non-dark side' it's just plain stupid.

Everybody has their own style of play, their tactics on killing their opponents vary and they are entitled to use what ever weapon they please. If people like you use the term 'dark side weapons' or whatever, you're putting off other players from using the weapon of choice.

But anyway, good for you for deciding you're going to join the "dark side" or whatever, I'm sure most of us couldn't give a (Please refrain from swearing), and you look stupid to make a topic about how you're going to change your weapon of preference to a stronger and more widely used weapon in soldat by saying you are going to join the dark side.

i dont think the ruger belongs in the "dark side" catergory. ;)

ruger and mp5 should be taken off that list cus I doubt any unskilled player can hang with those 2 primarys no matter what the map. :/

You fool, all but one of those are not weapons used by the dark agents of the barret. The dark side was founded by the barret, and it remains the only dark weapon. The '79 had a recent increase in use because of 1.3's changes, but it's still fighting for good. The MP5 and the ruger were never even thought to be dark, yet you place them in the same ranks of the barret, the right-hand man of satan himself. A player of a week would easily realize this, yet you, with nine months under your belt, have not. I can only conclude that you are extraordinarily stupid.

Jelly, you are infact a moron. Like jap man said, dividing up weapons because of their use is just idiotic - and you showing off your now excessive use of the "dark side weapons" really reflects your skill and patience. I find it dissapointing youd resort to the dark side because the rest of soldat does - if not because you're just an idiot.

I know im against some of those weapons you categorized into the dark side which id just call the lame side, but still, the fact you now have entered this dark side, its just sad. What do you feel is better, being inept and only being able to use these few primary's, or the ability to use ALL primary's effectively in every situation to prevail above any other weapon? I guarentee you I can still kick your arse without those 4 dark side weapons, and im quite sure many others can as well.

Why the *&$% does everyone spell Ruger "rugar?" Just curious. And it doesn't belong on the "dark side," it's extremely difficult for a newb to use the ruger effectively. At least, it is in 1.3, it was ridiculously easy in 1.2.1 or whatever the hell the last version was.

Deagles belong there too eh? I can name so many disadvantages of each weapon compared to some very specific 2 weapons now with the changes. IMO its just the barret and m79 that need nerfing. Compare the fact that 5% of the soldat population uses HK compared to 60% of them using barrets and m79s. Hows that for overuse?

Kinda says something about the bottom 60%.

What I can't stand is people who call an effective weapon "rigged" or "z0mfG wTf u n00b" it pisses me off so much. You need SKILLS to use a ruger effectively, you need SKILLS to use a barret effectively!

Plus, every weapon has it's ways. m79er can't take a good ruger user, as long as they controlled the range, this is why people use different weps.

The only overpowered wep is m79, people just run and make it reload quickly, pisses me off so much.

Ill agree on the m79. What I find funny is that I 1v1ed Dragonlord the other day. Now, I NEVER use barret, the only time I ever do is if once every few weeks ill just get it out for a few mintes then ditch it, or i pick it up to compliment my secondary/primary which isnt very often at all. Anyways, we barret dueled and he won by 6 kills. Difference between us is that he used barret all the time and I didnt. My ruger aim may have contributed to my barret skills, but I find that funny I still got that close. =

Btw, compare ruger and barret. What do you think the chances of newbie killing a soldat pro with a ruger compared to killing them with a barret? Think about it for 5 seconds. -.-;

i think you should be able to beat them at their own game, m79 an m79-(Please refrain from swearing) barret a barretard, auto an auto, if you pwn them enough they will be forced to use a different weapon than you can pwn them without a big issue, only problem is when an entire team uses the barret, than i reccomend leaving.

Actually, pwning them with their own weapon provokes them to try harder being if you can do it, anyone else can, and you're just setting a bad example. Like said, just use a different and effective weapon to pwn them, they cant fight back so they're literally forced to take a different tactic to kill you.

Oy. I thought that in the months I'd been away from my precious community that these weapon threads would have dwindled, but it looks like it's just gotten worse. Haven't we allready established, *on multiple occasions*, that the weapons are balanced, and any alterations through versions are so insignificant that it does little to shift the balance? If you get buchered by Barrets and M79s, it just means you suck worse than a Durka-durkastani (Please refrain from swearing), because I left that stage back with the rest of the newbs before bink and anti-cheat existed.

Also, have you noticed almost everybody who posted had less than 200 posts? Something to think about.

Look guys, if you want to look smart among the vets here, try not to complain about weapons or claim that some are unfair. It's been done before, believe me. Learn to be versatile with your weapons: This will make you a better player when different players with different weapon combinations and different terrain calls for a specialized weapon to be used (I.E., shotgun undoors, minigun in bottlenecks or for supressive fire). And for god sakes, it's just a sniper rifle. It doesn't take that long to learn how to foil snipers.

Weapon balance is fine? What the hell are you smoking? This whole VERSION isnt fine. God...michal (Please refrain from swearing)ed this one up. Yeah, its dandy when you can pick out 1 sniper, until 3 others hit you when you dont see it coming. I dont care if your the best player in soldat; You will die, lots, in a server full of m79ers and barrets.

why is there always a new thread complaing abut the weapons when i visit this forum. All stop complain all the time its fine if you have reason to but most do no have a valid reason to complain.

I love the dark side. In fact, I use it when i wanna piss someone off.

You die lots? Extacide, this is Soldat. It's all about people dying lots and lots of times. In fact, what do you think is more dangerous? Getting fired at by three steyrs at a time, or having to dodge two or three barrets within one minute? Barret and M79 are used by a lot of newbies, because they have a 'feeling' to it, but when it comes to playing against well fit opponents, they'll fail miserably.

About the version being f*cked up: in the last two versions, a cw hasn't passed without the losers whining excessively about some weapons. In this version, I have not yet experienced any serious complaints about the weapon balance.

Its just...EVERYTHING, and now im starting to realize alot of this.

Extacide, you need to stop. It's not helping anybody to say certain weapons are taboo if they are really accepted by the majority of the Soldat community. Anyway, whoever doesn't agree with barret and m79 being cheap probably uses barret and m79 all the time. OKAY?! Barret and m79 doesn't give the person a chance to survive because it's ONE HIT KILL. AND they're the easiest damn weapons to use in the game.

Yeah, but up and close maps like voland and most of kampf, you cant use a ruger as successfully to pick them out from a distance. PLUS because of the lag in all servers, ill see myself narrowly dodge an m79 round purposely acting like its the matrix and bam i blow up. o.o; If its not lag then bleh i should get out of that habit.

agreed, these small spaced in levels are more suited for one hitters and autos, but in wide open range like b2b, its a matter of jump, jet, and shoot.

But yes, Ruger is in fact the "right hand man" of the Barret, the gun has half or so of the speed of a barret bullet and barely has any angles.

Why everyone feels hk mp5 is a n00bs weapon is beyond me, when you play SKILLED players. it's only good in close encounter enviroments. Get too far away from lets say, a minimier, and he will tear you apart long range(especially n00bs who don't know about bursting), hk mp5 is a incredibly fast firing, moderately powered weapon, and it's when people use the weapon properly, it is deadly.

So there's my reason for usin hk mp5 in close quarters, and rugers in open field enviroment.

I need something other to do besides jack off to porn and I find the last couple posts HIGHLY offensive.

But HK isn't really that much of a skill gun. The hardest weapons to use now in Soldat are probably the Deagles and Shotgun, because so many servers lag like hell all of the sudden.

Jelly is right, HK is rather easy to use. I have no problems with it, its not over used, not too powerful if you know how to fight it right, but i picked that thing up, made 1,000 kills and got bored like *that*.

If HK is too powerful against you, a solution may be to drop that barret and grab a gun that can shoot from a distance or kill quickly such as a spas. The hker will be dead instantly before you even lose 50% health.

bas soldat gets really boring sometimes...

I want midair law shooting back and no delay back so I can shoot minigun and then pull out the law and BAM!

and I want faster law reloads too =(

UGK, you need to get out of that limited world of barrets and m79s. HK is REDICULOUSLY easy and if you cant even use it effectively, I just have to say "wow". Im not even pro and that thing is easy as hell. Infact, I can use almost every gun effectively now. I use weapons appropriate to the map, and most effective against my opponents. Hell, i picked up a minigun to take on these barretards. Binking the [CENSORED] out of them actually fixed the problem, id minigun them and socom any non barretards.

Hehehe, hooray for miniguns! xD
