Taking Sound Effects, Tricks & Hints

Starting

1. Download the newest version of Audacity.
2. Put the game on.
3. Put all weapons code on (if possible).
4. Minimize the game (Alt+Tab / Ctrl+Esc).
5. Run Audacity.
6. Select "Wave Out Mix" in the lowest bar.
7. Press the record button.
8. Go to the game.
9. Make sounds what you need.
10. When ready, quit the game.
11. Press stop button in Audacity.
12. Save the file.

Making And Saving

1. Select sound effects with the "Selection Tool"
2. Press the Play button to test that it's correct
3. When you're sure, press File > Export Selection AS WAV...
4. Put the name for the file
5. Save it where do you want (except don't overwrite it, sometimes it doesn't work)
6. Repeat all the time until you're ready
7. Close Audacity when ready
8. Move the files from the folder where you put them to Soldat > Mods > X > Sfx (must overwrite)

Testing

1. Open Run
2. Run "Soldat.exe -mod X"
3. Test them

Problems
1. Too loud or quiet sound: Effect > Amplify...
2. Too much treble: Effect > BassBoost... / Low Pass Filter...
3. Too much bass: Effect > High Pass Filter...
4. Want to trim the end of the sound effect: Effect > Fade Out
5. Want to trim the start of the sound effect: Effect > Fade In
6. Want to reverse: Effect > Reverse
7. Want more speed: Effect > Change Speed...
8. Want less speed: Effect > Change Speed...
9. Want more tempo: Effect > Change Tempo...
10. Want more tempo: Effect > Change Tempo...

Nice job. I have always looked for a program like this. This will help out so much when looking for sfx. Good job and thanks :D

btw, can you give us a link to this "Audacity" program?

Yes, yes. I'm going to edit this today when I get from school. I'm going to add Audacity link, add more tricks & hints and also images to get it easier.
