I discovered 7-zip, which is a lot better than all the other ones IMO

Winrars is pretty easy to use, better then my old winzip...

Wow, been a member since May and you still can't google a file format.

You say that almost as if it's not possible to know how to use Google until you join the forums.

Why would anyone even use a .rar file? Is the format more efficient in compressing files?

You can add more information to the file itself, I think...

AFAIK, it's smaller in filesize than .zip

True, usual rar compression is better that zip, but still.

From my experience, 7-zip, as mentioned by N1nj@, has the best zip compressing algorithms, and its own 7z format is better than anything else.

yeah but 7-zip isnt widely usnt...not many people have the opener.
