I am wondering how you open .rar files, it's causing me alot of problems when I get a new mod.

I discovered 7-zip, which is a lot better than all the other ones IMO

Winrars is pretty easy to use, better then my old winzip...

Yeah I use Winrar. Its kinda free. ( you know like soldat free. You have a Trial period, but if it expires you can still use it,it just has nag screens. [/url]

@ BMax2000, Google came up with Winace which does not work for .zip.

If you search on google for rar, the first thing that comes up is WinRAR -_-

Why would anyone even use a .rar file? Is the format more efficient in compressing files?

AFAIK, it's smaller in filesize than .zip

You can't compare two different things like that. Winrar is a program for work with rar files, and zip is just file format.
True, usual rar compression is better that zip, but still.

From my experience, 7-zip, as mentioned by N1nj@, has the best zip compressing algorithms, and its own 7z format is better than anything else.
