during soldat i dont listen to music, because i dont play soldat anymore, but when i did play soldat, i didnt listen to music while playing. the music i listen to is system of a down, offspring, weezer, sum 41, linkin park ish, billy talent..... and beastie boys

I don't listen to music while playing soldat. Too unnerving, the sudden change in rhythm and tempo puts me off.

I really love the original Soldat tracks. :) They're just perfect for the blood 'n gore of the game. I normally just let my Winamp run on in the background though.
I play best to fast paced music with lots of riffs and shouting/growling like Mucupurulent and similar.

I stopped listening to music in Soldat when it started impeding my ability to play :p

--Video game music (SPC files, various remixes, and the Smashing! Live CD)

--Some Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin
--A little bit of real country; modern pop country sucks
--Various TV/movie themes
--David Bowie
--The Beatles
--A little of The Presidents of the United States of America

I listen to anything fast-paced. I have different "harder" playlists set up with bands like System of a Down and Rammstein, and then ones with more mellow stuff like Daft Punk and Franz Ferdinand.

There are some lists there that are just random songs from random bands that I thought would be good to listen to, like "Bak et Halleluja" by Kaizer's Orchestra* :P
