OK, if I try to run a server it works fine.

If I try to run a dedicated server it pings at ??? over the net, I also can't join it.

If I switch to view local it pings correctly, but it says there are 255 players in the game :/

When I connect to 127.0.0.1 it starts popping up error windows (along with the wonderful windows *ding*) 3 times a second for about 30 seconds.


I've got the right ports forwarded on my router, I've got DMZ enabled, my non-dedicated server runs fine.
Why doesn't this one?

Time between connection and disconnection was being attacked by error boxes and windows ding :/
After it's done spamming me with errors, it finally tells me Soldat has encountered a problem and needs to close...
I'm running XP Pro if that's of any relevence :)

Already checked, if you open your eyes and read what I posted, you'd realise I've already done everything recomended in the other threads of this nature.

first up pinging your own ip over the net or locally is a troublesome task. ignore that and use the ping you see ingmae in the f1 menu.

now. the joining using 127.0.0.1 solution was correct. but the server spits at you. the dings are errors, so what do they say?

odds are its hardware or memory related.

first off delete your current dedicated server folder, restart and try RE-downloading the newest dedicated server and running that, this hopefully gets the possible gremlin out of the window.

if you still get the dings report back with that they are saying....

and always check to make sure that windows firewall is disabled too

From recollection I couldn't actually see the errors, just a blank box with a red X and an OK button.

I'll try those solutions tomorow, now is sleep time :)

Reinstalling Dedi server fixed the problem
