I finally made a map again. An INF one this time. I intended it as a CTF map (ctf_xenonia), but it turned out too unbalanced for it, so I decided to release it as an INF map :). It has some pretty nifty visual tricks i don't think i've seen anywhere else, and the gameplay is pretty nice IMO. DL and tell me what you think.

I decided to update this map up again and bump it upwith a new version :P. Added lots of shading, better scenery and more colour. Also replaced semagae's waypoints with Keron Cysts. I also removed the huge drawing scenery, so you can host this map on your server and people will be able to download it.

I suggest you put the blue spawns a bit more away from the black flag,
and add a deadly poly on team 1 side or people will start abusing it,
and it's a bit hard to waypoint with the bot's falling down(my opinion)...
But in general, a good map for a 3v3 or 2v2

I think blue spawns far enough, since alpha can spawnkill them pretty easily on the lower spawnpoint, and bravo can't quickly go chase the flagger in the tunnels from the upper one.
And what exactly could people abuse on on team 1's side?

If they were to be hurt they would just jump down and respawn with full health

Damn..I always love the looks of maps like this. Colors are one of the best parts for me, as well as the structures towards the right of the map. Downloading.

I don't know why but when I first looked at it.. it reminded me of like The Lord of The Rings.

Anyway it looks good and I imagine the gameplay is good to.

Yep, I sometimes make maps from drawings. It's a very nifty technique. I placed everything according to the drawing.

That's hardly a problem, since it takes a while to fall down. It would be quicker to just /kill and respawn normally.

And it's kinda not good for the dial-up users, maybie you should compress it to JPG?
I mean shure 1mB is nothing but people mostly wanna play fast...

And you really followed the drawing fine, i tried that tehnique once, but...failed... it came out looking bad
Well i kinda rather draw it in my mind, and do it directly.

Is that a humongous, stretched barrel being used as a support column (top-right)?... o_O'

EDIT Also, the waypoints seem to have been done hastily; the bots never take any northern passages, and Alpha bots get stuck at the flag pit when they grab the flag...

they work fine for me... but they rarely take the upper path(they still do though)

I dunno. For me whenever I let the Alpha bots grab the flag (twice only, but still), they kept jumping to the right...

EDIT Er, just to clarify, the Alpha bots do jet somewhat (I never played on Bravo) and take a bit of the north and so do Bravo, I think, but they always drop by the middle even if they haven't encountered one another.

Have you tried it? It's freakin' awesome! The Bravo bots backflip in the bottom-left when jetting to the enemy flag! I can't get over that xD
