Soldat Forums - Soldat Talk - Soldat Improvements Discussion

I'm not sure if it's harder to code, or what the impact would be on bandwidth and filesize, but I think it would be DAMNED awesome if soldat scenery files included GIF's.

Ropes could swing, smoke could flow around, realistic water animations could be created (Big Falls). The possiblities are endles!

I don't want to get too ahead of the point, but if soldat became really advanced, you could create Poly's that activated gif files. With this, you could make grass shuffle at your feet as you walk by areas of a map, and other cool stuff.

But yeah. Main point - Gifs at all would be awesome.

posted before, liked it then.
posted now, still like it (^_^)
i just hope it really doesn't screw with the settings of map maker, or soldat itself, or it would never happen

I recall Marcinkowski saying it wouldn't work. We're better off with .BMPs stringed together to make an animation (like the explosion graphics).
