This is improved map for the map contest [URL]
I know it's prety ordinary compared to others, but i'm not all that good at it, and at least I tried.
It has a new texture, just follow the instructions.
No custom sceenery (no sceenery)

The concept is cool, it just looks like crap..

You need to shade it...

I can't tell that there is even a texture.

You really should reconsider entering the contest with that map,
I'm not shure it's gonna get you anywhere, it lacks gameplay, looks,
and originality...

Well, by the sound of things, there is only going to be 4 entries anyway. And the texture is white.

Even with four entries anything could beat that. From that overhead shot I can tell you didn't put any scenery whatsoever. You didn't shade any polygons. Battle is more or less a flat land (LaGrange at least has pits and some hills). Both background colors are the exact same. I'd probably criticize more but then that'd degrade your opinion of me :-P

Try harder. What you're aiming for is a map that looks like it could be an official Soldat map. Doesn't look like it? Tough luck; work at it!

Anyone have a link to the specifics of this mapping contest? I am very interested, but haven't seen anything official on it.

@ Dezonus Argh, my eyes! They burn! Make the icebergs higher and maybe some tunnels. Also, Icebergs aren't that angular unless you get them out of one of those ice makers. Is that what this level is themed on?

its just crap, shading, scernery, crap on a stick, anything would improve it, in fact i think you should just delete it and start another one

Any possitive feedback, considering it's my first real map?

i think its pretty cool, snow doesnt really have a texture anyway so i guess the map makes some sense
