The contestants had to build Ice/Snow themed infiltration maps, and the following works were submitted:

The voting

Vote as follows: create a list for each aspect, thus rating the maps. (1 being the best and 4 being the worst in the aspect.) At the end the map with the lowest score will win. ( The Map score is adding up all the ratings the map got ) One week should be enough for woting, voting closes on November 11th, Friday.

WOW, thats [CENSORED]ing lame. I spent all yesterday working on my map and you guys start before the deadline ends.... There go 4 or 5 hours of my life -_-;;;

Today is the 6th, on the deadline. So the rules would suggest I would be able to submit my map today.

And besides, I already finished my map, and either way I will be submitting a map for the next contest. Oh well.

I'll edit in a link for my map once I have it up. Though I guess it's too late.

ah, but you see, for me it is mid/early afternoon, and the topic was started at 5:00am where I live(NA west coast). But oh well, it doesn't matter. It's fun just to make maps.

I'm thinking maybe a reward for the map contestants is their map on a server. If anyone would be able to host a decent dedi, it would be a nice incentive to enter the contest. I would say that only the top maps should get on the server (which would change for each contest), but there really aren't that many entries.

Oh - and perhaps 'originality' should take the place of 'overall' (it seems a bit redundant). Overall score should just be the average of all other scores for each given map.

shrehu and iceburg are tied for me.......but shrehu wins

i rckon keron, for practicly making all thos maps good :P but if that isnt good enough

Now that I'm running this contest, I'm not going to allow voting on ones own map. There should have been something said in the rules at the beginning of the post. It's most likely too biased and, when put up against other most likely biased votes, the numbers will cancle themselves out anyway. After all, if we all vote our maps to be #1, we all advance just as much and no one has taken any sort of lead.

Let the forumers vote and get the final word.

Agreed. A poll where people just clicked, voted, and the process was completly automated and able to prevent people from voting twice would be ideal. Didn't zyx or someone make a suggestion like this recently?

Btw, why do u have 3 categories just have 1 overall poll for the best map.

Once sml is restored, this type of voting would be easy under map ratings.

This was the system set up by Demonic before he left. It will be used at least through the first round of mapping, and possible farther depending on if the system works well in describing what each member voting likes about each entry.

If a poll system could be set up that addressed these issues, it would make things much smoother, I agree. I'll PM you soon DePhille...and Soul, if an SML based voting system would be available that would rock as well. Hopefully this contest is still up and running by the time things get restored. Anything to keep things smooth and free of error, ya know?

Why is nobody voting? The time is nearly up, and we have hardly any votes.

Dunno, I always thought a week was a bit long for voting. Most people voted within the first day or two.
