I want to know if its possible for one of us to become a mod, and what the requirements are. I run a forum, so I should be alright at it, but it's not up to me at all.

you cant become a mod by asking

these are basically the requirements:
- a need for a new moderator
- you must be helpful
- you need to be well known (sortof, i havn't really seen somone become a moderator that no one knows)

Would you consider me well known?

I didn't meet any of those requirements. I just found a thread saying hey, make Lapis a moderator. Here I am.

Now I put up with dip[CENSORED]s who can't even read the freaking rules. =

Lapis is such a good moderator that he can go inactive for a whole month and come back like he was here the whole time!

The thing about moderating is that you shouldn't really particularly want to be one. If you just want a load of silly power and a reason for people to respect you, you'll find yourself bored with the job. It's not really all its cracked up to be.

You probably lost all possible chance of becoming one by posting this. I administrate one and moderate three others and my yearlong dream here at best is to get the custom member title "Master Wypter" :-P

Someone made a thread reccommending me for mod a long time ago (at least 6 months, probably close to a year), but nothing happened.

About a month ago stalky left, and he reccomended me to take over 2 of the forums he adminned, then i kinda accumulated a couple more over time

Now if only someone would make a topic for me taking over the rock section of these forums..

From what I've gathered, you need to:
have been a member for quite a long time
not post (much) stupid crap
be in the forum "inner circle"
not be Chakra

And be able to post silly comments when necessary.

I'm not relly asking to become a mod. I just wanted to know how you can, which is a fair enough question. Besides, I'm not that fussed. I have my own forum to run, but if they want me I will, thats all.

This forum needs less mods and more Chakra-like characters. Perhaps more archenemies... like BMF and Hitman once were. People willing to post long-winded opinions without second-guessing what they are about to do. Controversy invites action, and of course action leads to getting things done (or something along those lines.)

BMF was a nice guy, also very smart, and between hitman and bmf I never saw much of a really argument jsut kinda heated debates.
