i'm making a map, its a wip(work in progress).
i'm not near done, just before i'm done, i wanted to take any ideas.

i use the mapmaker, not polyworks just fyi :P

i could help you by doing step by step instructions in whatever mapmaker you choose to use. I paste photos in direct connect to make it easier for you to understand and for me to explain.

Seriously, use polyworks, it's much, much easier to use than mapmaker, getting used to the tools doesn't take long at all.

nah, i know polyworks is better, but i hate the interface. and for me it takes a long time to get used to...

i think, if you closed that in a chamber-like map, maybe with some free space above it, should become an interesting DM and alike.

I hate PW's interface as well. I'd rather take a long time to make something in MM+.

There should be a lot more scenery. The tracks look a bit crude.

in MM+ u cant make anything as neat as in polyworks i dont think, but then again i havent really tried MM+. does it have snap to vertice and split?

Split? You mean, as in split polygons? Yea, it can do that.

... heck, even the original could do that! Man, you're really that PW-obsessed? The only advantages I can see of adapting to the rather nasty PW interface (no offense, Anna! xP) is 1337er scenery and multiple textures in one.

And yea, polygons' vertices snap together if you click close enough. That's a bit buggy, tho', but I'd rather take that over PW always showing vertex lines; I like being able to see what the actual map looks like in-game from the map editor.

I don't think you've used PW enough to really judge it, if those are the only benefits you noticed.

The reason I use Polyworks is because of the interface :O
The way you select the tools from a single box is, to me, much simpler than the other mapmaker's tab selection system.
You can decide what you want to see as well- if you want you can turn off the polygons too see a patch of scenery you can, or if you want to see the shading on it's own you can turn off the texture.

I respect your decision though ;)

semagae, I love you. The bridge totally sucks, tho' :-P

@headstone: ignorance is bliss (at least here). Having to do all that (yes, "all that") already shows how complicated it is, and besides I'm too used to MM+. But once Anna installs wypt. support I'll switch immediately so stop trying to persuade me to use a prog. I'll end up with anyways :-P

@yukina_keita: I don't think there even is a bottom passage on his map. It looks fine the way it is, nostalgic.

omg that waterfall is just ugly, compared to the rest of the map which is pretty ;)
i miss some scenerys, u should work on that, and those small tunnels won't allow a decent gameplay, but since custom maps almost never REALLY get played, you shouldn't give a [CENSORED] about that ;)

semagae, on the last screenie, making maps with only one central vertice per blob thing creates some unhappy results :(

try to use more cental vertices.

Shading's kinda awkward for the first boulder (top of this page), don't you think? Try using The Geologist's polygonal shading method.
