Modification on Ctf_Voland

This is really an idea to place the original Voland map as default, or atleast try to get people who agree on fixing this map, if its to continue.

Everything is fine, but the one thing I see wrong is the spikes inside everyones base. Im not complaining about falling into them, none of that. The problem is, when you're nade spammed at the spawn or you're sent flying up, you go straight into those spikes. Its rather annoying, and its bull**** to fly up into them because someone cant hit with one grenade, but 4.

Anyways, a modified version should be redistributed atleast and possibly re-made as the default voland. The fix being, removing some of the spikes INSIDE of the bases, so nade spam wont blow you into them.

Good idea, but I really don't think a professional mapper is needed, semagae. It's just a matter of removing some polys and patching over with new ones.

... not even that; you just need to change the attribute of the current death polygons. I could do that, but I don't know about the distribution part... :-P

EDIT Never mind; now I see that the entire outer wall is composed of only two polygons, one being of Deadly type. I'll see what I can do, I guess.

Meh..sh*t happens? I hate getting blown up into that death poly as much as the next guy, but I don't see the need to change the map or redistribute. If that poly wasn't there the bases would lose what little defensive value they already have. I often use those death polys to kill incoming enemies when I can, and those who just fall on them by mistake make things that much easier.

Huh? He's talking about only that one particular death poly that is specifically inside the base as on the wall instead of just the rooftop alone.

I know. On the inside of the base where you spawn, the death poly that you get blown up into when people toss nades up.

Yeah, thats rather bugged. All that needs to be modified is just the very inside. I could easily do this myself, i think anyone could. Im just also curious if anyone would think servers would update to it.

Again, only a minor idea to fix that little annoyance. You shouldnt die because people want to nade spam you, and voland is the only map i know of where being nade spammed at the spawn can kill you without the nade spam killing you itself - flying up uncontrollably right into the spikes.

I approve of this change but I also think the 90 degree angle wall where you spawn at to come down from your base should be slanted.

People just toss nades into the bases and its hard as hell to get out.. so I think that opening should widen a little more.

I still remember that time an enemy was up there, waiting for me to come up, I chucked a 'nade there instead, and... :-D That area adds a certain tension element to the match. I don't think it should be tweaked.

Oh and note: Can you make it so at the bridge, you wont randomly fall into it at the edge lol. I do that sometimes. <_<

That was added there purposefully incase the flag fell through, so that someone could fly down and grab/return it without having to wait for it to return itself. :F

Anyways, ill tweak it and see how it turns up.
