only 256KB? thats pathetic. and the model of your ATI card is acually very...important.

i have :
160GB SATA HDD 7200RPM
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Aspire 520w PSU
dvd+rw burner

ATI Radeon X800XL 256MB
1 GB RAM. i need another GB :(

wormdundee
December 30, 2005, 9:26 pm
Yeh I think I probably need another gig of ram too.
And I just recently got an ATI Radeon 9600 SE, a helluva lot better than what I had before I can tell you (seriously, it was an nVidia Riva TNT2)

Next thing I need to update is the processor, and then a new motherboard. Or probably the other way around.

AMD clock speeds arent important, because they work differently than intel. They are named accordingly to their intel equivalents. So a AMD 3500+ = Pentium 4 3.5GHz. But AMDs always beat their Intel equivalents in gaming for some reason.

omgosh sexyness, and by the way nfsjunkie i have the same INTERGRATED graphics card as you and it's not 128mb, its 64 mb, it can barely run cod 2 on normal settings, so im sure its not 128 mb...... the reason why it says 1.89 ghz is becus its actually 1.89 ghz, a amd 3500 is equivilent to an intel 3.5 ghz processor.

My computer>>>:

arr. so ye got the new pirate version of xp, eh lassi?

so basically, you don't know squat about your computer and your tring to show off by saying that you have the "pirated version" of xp, meaning that your friend burnt you a copy of home edition. 312ram, that's real great, and impossible unless you made your ram by hand. it's either 384mb ram or 512mb. inter 1.10 ghz processor? inter, what an interesting company name. 1.1ghz is highly unlikely as well. the video card is the only thing that you got right.[/geekrant]

anyways, check out my sexy comp specs:
384mb ram
1.6ghz celeron processor
16mb ati igp 330m crap graphics card
windows xp 1337 haxxor version
100mbps nic card
14.1" lcd monitor
37gb hard drive
blazingly fast 2.1kbps connection

basically, it's pretty crappy. although my server's alright:
608mb ram (512mb + 96mb)
2.4ghz amd athlon processor
32mb prosavage ddr grahics card
windows xp professional (only runs fullscreen cmd.exe, svchost, system idle process, and other mandatory processes)
100mbps nic card
13" monitor (only 6" used to conserve power)
60gb hard drive
will have 200kbps connection soon

i still have to swap some of the parts, because my server doesn't need a 32mb graphics card, or a 60gb hard drive :P

the model number does almost nothing to dictate the GHZ of AMD processors they more or less let you know what the Pentium Equivilant is 2400 = same processing power as a P4 2.4 GHZ, while only using 2.06 ghz speed, and the reason that the 3400 is only 1.89 ghz, is its probally a 64 bit processor, so it processes faster, with out the need for actual GHZ, see you are brain washed by Intel into beleiving more GHZ = Faster, but thats not the truth, its more about efficency of the processor, and more stable pipe lines, thats why AMDs keep up with Faster Pentiums at a lower GHZ, because AMDs dont keep bursting pipelines while doing stuff with the information, its kinda like this
What would you take to get somewhere REALLY fast, a Ferrari or a bus?
a Ferrari, right?
now, what would you take to get 20 people somewhere fast? The bus, it works the same way, AMD have slower GHZ, but can handle a bigger load, so infact they are faster. :)

being able to play source doesnt basically mean you have a 128mb card

the specs for halflife 2 are
Processor: 1.2 GHz Processor
OS: Windows, 2000/XP/Me/98
Graphic card: DirectX 7 level graphics card (meaning around 64mb)
Hard Drive: 4.5 GB
Memory: 256 MB RAM

oh, and the monitors were:
1024x768 85 hz
800x600 75 hz
one was a dell, the other had energy star, i'm too lazy to take a look in my basement right now.
a set of blown speakers
a set of not blown speakers.
a laser mouse that didn't work on the surfaces down in the basement
a regulare mouse for when the laser didn't work
