but lots of people also play v1.1x so im not sure.

there is xtra lag?
i dont really notice it....
and 1.12 would be kinda better if unregistered
people could use custom interfaces

1.0.5 had a better gameplay, and less lag.
1.1.x has more server options like ping kick, reoving weapons, and realistic mode..and more.

if 1.1.x's options were in 1.0.5, there was a perfect 1.2.0 version

yes that would be quite nice....
(the only reason i play 1.12 is because of the xtra options
and stuff)

good point - 1.05b wit 1.12 would be crazie!
i wonder why 1.05b dont lag as muck as 1.12?

shouldn't the lag depend on the connections, and not the game?

sanity
March 23, 2003, 1:31 pm
um no m1nt lag depends on the game AND the connection speed.

Yeah 1.1x netcode should be fixed.

why does it depend on the game sanity?
i thought it ALWAYS depends on the connection!

evo if the game has really [:-censored]ty netcode even if you were on a dual oc256 it would lag.

If you have ever played CS or Half Life, you realize that Sierra did a great job with the net coding for those games. I noticed that when I played with 50 ping against 22 people....

But this is a game made by one person, not 40 year old programming gurus. Michal has done the best he can. Do you think it would lag less if people turned down the particle numbers on the screen and the detail levels? Seems to me that would help....

true.
i think thats why mike needs to team with some programmers
so they can ALL upgrade the game.

It's kinda hard to find people who have good programing skills to work for free. So, maybe we should give mike a bit more time to patch up the netcode?

well the thing is shadow, your not gonna get a lot of people to change their settings because they like them like that, of course it would be better if they did change them but i dont really think its gonna happen, its sad...:'(

you could run 1.1x in 16 colours with handful of particles and it would still lag more than 1.05b! [:P]

gee what do particles have to do with lag?
particles are rendered locally like any other effect
btw 1.05b runs on linux now.
I´m bugging the wine devs to fix the antihack emulation
so we soon might have a working up to date soldat for the linxu people [;)]
