Inspired by UT2004.
There are two control points in a map. Two teams or more must fight for control over the two points. If a member of the, oh say, Alpha Team touches a control point, the point will become red, indicating that it belongs to Alpha Team. Alpha Team will receive one point for every five seconds they hold that control point. If they control both points, then they get two points every five seconds.
Another team can take a control point from another team by simply touching it.

Bah, that's nonsense, we allready have this cept you have a flag and it's not still...
(Like the ut2k4 gamemode though)

interesting idea - though soldat is more about earning your points mainly through attacking and not too much defending - that is to say, when you have like all the 'control points' you start defending it naturally, however a better way would be that soldats have to be in constant motion and attacking trying to get more control points - aamof, my gamemode, http://www.soldatforums.com/topic.asp?topic_id=20970 , covers that very well.

It would be cool to be able to set as many control points as you like. Small maps could have just 2, and huge maps may have 10. This could make for some very complex gameplay.

I suggested something like that earlier, but using polygons in a mode called PolyMatch (any polygons you touch will give you a point every 5 seconds for 20 seconds - enemies can claim your polygons), although that'd kinda get out of hand pretty quickly.
I like this idea but there should be as many capture pts. as you want.

why this would fit in soldat?
here:
in infiltration theres a white flag u cant move. all u have to do is make this flag change colour when a soldat passes it. simple coding!
