all of a sudden, my photoshop when i select somethign with a marquee and press clear, will make it the background color, instead of making that section transparent. can anyone help?

Ugh, I'm not very good at this, but I think I know what's wrong.
Make sure when you select New to create a new image your background contents is set to Transparent. Usually the only time I've had a color background show up is when the background contents is set to bg color/white.

Same thing happens if you're using erase tools, and your erase color shows up in the back.

yea you gotta start a new document and if you're editing an exsisting image, it's best to just paste it.

It works, excpet now all of a sudden, i cant see the grid, bit it is still invisible :P ahh well, i might reinstall next time i have a major problem.
