Well, i dunno about you guys, but i thought that when connecting with cable internets, that your ip address was the same permanently. it seems that our cable providers have changed our ip though, does this happen often. i dont know about it, so i was wondering if someone else did.

I think most ISPs that offer cable internet also offer static IPs but maybe this one just.. doesnt?

Maybe it will be static if you have a router and dont disconnect.

well, we have a router, and we have been gone before, i wonder if they change ips yearly? maybe... notcied this when a serials site announced my IP as different.

also, when i trace connections through continuum, it reports an IP similar to my old one... ah wel,, it shouldnt be too much of a hassle.

make a batch file that looks like this:
ipconfig /all
pause
and put it in your startup folder. oh snap! now you know what your ip address is every time you log on!

Both of the cable providers over here (Australia) have dynamic IPs. My cable provider (Tel$tra) offers a static IP for ADSL, but not Cable.
