This idea is kinda about taking Soldat back to its roots (people drawing little guys killing each other) with a map. The polys would be pencil/pen colored. Only outlines of the landscape would be made, leaving nothingness between parts. Perhaps there would be lines or holes in the background, simulating loose-leaf paper.

I remember a map that was actually made like that, a map drawn out on paper, it was quite neat actually.

maybe i'll scan a couple pictures of my math notebook some time...
