I don't know if any of you guys know of this...

RTS = Command & Conquer, Total Annihilation,
StarCraft, etc.; build bases, gather resources, and fight the
enemy
RTT = something like Ground Control or Mech Commander,
where you assume control of an elite small squadron of units (mobility
of troops is a key factor to success) and do random junk; destroy
other enemies, hold a siege, escort a convoy, etc.

Okay. Now that we've got that cleared...

S.W.I.N.E.
Developer: Stormregion
Publisher: Fishtank Interactive
On August 3, under the orders of General Iron Tusk, the NATIONAL
ARMY OF PIGS crossed the border without warning and penetrated deep
into Carrotland territory. Within only two weeks, they'd burned
everything to the ground. The capital city is under blockade. As a
result of the bitter fighting, the rabbit army is decimated. Towns and
villages are deserted. The defense's determined efforts have not been
crowned by success, and their reduced army cannot stop the hordes of
swine. In desperation, the government and the staff of generals reach
the following decision: Because overwhelming Iron Tusk's war machine
with a frontal attack is impossible, we will have to resort to
subterfuge. From the remains of their reserves, the rabbits create a
powerful fighting force. Without suffering too many losses, this force
must harass and sneak attack the enemy until they lose all their
supply lines and military objectives. Now, all that remains is to find
a capable officer who can lead this operation...
Originally a commercial game Stormregion released S.W.I.N.E.
for freeware just last Christmas. Downloads from servers since have
picked up to over 100,000 counts.
"Don't be a Carrotland-rabbit, download and play: the National Pig
Army authorized the free usage of this software."

Yeh, I think I saw it before it was freeware so I didn't get it.

I still thought it looked pretty sweet though.

The best Hungarian game, ever :)

I haven't beat the game, but enjoyed every minute I spent with it ( had the original cd, when it wasn't freeware ). I can whole heartedly recommend it to everyone.

What do you mean, "another?" This is the best RTT I've ever stumbled upon.

dude Codename: Panzers owns this by a mile.
I know because I have both. and only panzers made me play it for 9 hours straight every day and night during my summer vacation. I even made a Norwegians only clan, and I dont recall us loosing one time :D

then panzers 2 came out and everyone started playing it and I cant afford it :<

And NOTHING beats free. Nothing.

Except, maybe, a computer. (But even then you can get those free as well, if you're lucky!...)

well I would choose to pay for Panzers than to be stuck with S.W.I.N.E but that is just my opinion :D

Is this in English?

Yep, but not just English, all sorts of languages! :-)

@Psycho: well, I haven't played Panzers, and (just on a hunch) if you prefer it over this because Panzers may have more seriousness, fast-paced action, and more convenient keyboard function-shortcuts, you're not old-skool enough B-)

This game has loads of humour. The unit comments are hilarious.
Also, if you want to hear the best language in the world, switch it to Hungarian.

This is addicting too! S.W.I.N.E.'s Level 5 of the Rabbit campaign
took me a li'l over 2 hrs. to beat (when all the others before took half an hour or less). And there are different multiplayer modes for S.W.I.N.E. And it has pwnage graphics. And amazing gameplay.

^^

Mechcommander Gold is THE best RTT/RTS ever. It's got so much strategy and tactics and skill involved... Sadly only a few dozen people still play it. We got a tiny but close community. We all hate each other.
