Soldat is available on Vapour (http://www.vapour-online.com/). It's a program similar to Steam but supports all kind of freeware games and mods, you can automatically download content and updates for Soldat with it.

No, the guy behind Vapour is really nice. Besides that he needs to create a bigger community before charging people. So, Soldat is there before Vapour hits big time:).

i have no idea what Vapour is, but its nice to se some progress:D

According to what he's said of it and that link he posted, Vapour automatically downloads new versions (e.g., what would be for Soldat, 1.3.2, 1.4, etc. all the new versions from here on out), and notify you of any Vapour-submitted mods for Soldat.

It's like Steam. You can download mods for HL, HL2, UT2k4, CS:S, Battlefield 2, Quake 4, Quake 3, Quake, and Doom 3. (Soon to come: Enemy Territory). And then, there is Standalone games, where Soldat is (thanks to MM) and some other pretty cool games.

Steam is publishing software. I believe they make non-free software developers pay a certain percent of their income to host their programs on Steam servers. The Vapour website says they do the same thing. That's the reason I asked.

Oh I get it now. Vapour is a synonym for Steam. Haha.

I think he's saying that because the community there (specifically Soldat) is inactive most of the time. I've looked at their forums and there wasn't a post in more than half of the boards since April 4 :S

A. there's no community there
B. The program simply acts as a launcher for soldat (and other games if you have them)
C. Soldat is counted as a mod? WTF?
D. You still need to execute soldat to view servers.
E. I tried it and am not just saying this for fun.
