FPS in soldat isnt as critical as it is in other games imo, theres pro players who play in the 60s and lower just go screen shot huntin.

http://www.100fps.com/how_many_frames_can_humans_see.htm

interesting facts about frames per second that the human eye percieves, and how there is no definitive 'amount' that justifies a minimum fps for all games.

w00w, that was very interesting, i always look if a game runs fine, if i think it doest i just lower the settings, im not gonna stare me blind at fps.

I don't see what FPS/video card have to do with Soldat - it's pretty low resource, and unless you've disabled VSync you can't get a higher FPS than your refresh rate.

I have a GeForce 7800 GT, but my monitor is extremely old. Thus, my FPS remains a low 60 FPS.

frogboy is right, your fps seems to depend more on your monitor than your video card, specifically its refresh rate. For me:

800x600 @ 150hz = ~150fps
960x600 @ 150hz = ~150fps
1024x768 @ 100hz = ~100fps
1088x612 @ 144hz = ~144fps
1152x864 @ 100hz = ~100fps

With ViewSonic G90f and GeForce 7900 GT

some nvidiot card, it's a piece of crap but it works okay for soldat. I usually get something like 100fps so it's not all bad.

my vid card (Raedeon ATI 9700SE) pumps out a decent 30-40fps, and plays most of the newer games...

You wont be able to tell the difference if your fps is anything over about 22. Your eyes dont take in images that fast. The only think a fps higher then that does for you is make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
