DM/HTF_Divine Sources by Eagles_Arrows (EA) & OutofOrder (OoO)

[OVERVIEW]

Huzzah! We're on a roll this weekend. xP

It may look familiar to Rainrider's HTF_Superpants, but there's a different concept. There is a poly in the center (the Eye) which is the source of everything. It produces Soldats, nades, medikits, and whatnot, spitting them out in three directions. Thus, we have called it the Divine Source.

As of now, our maps will be hosted by SoldatPage.

This map does not belong in the Ostentosa City Series.

EDIT: Link fixed - had to re-copy the link and whatnot...thanks to my friend (irl) for taking note of that.

Definitely reminds me of HTF_Superpants like you said in that there's a central explosion of light from an object, but I love it. Love the layout, excellent placement of scenery, gameplay looks awesome... and the concept for the eye or 'divine source' is incredibly clever.

... HATE you guys for being so good at mapping while I still suck though XP

Great work, looks very fun. I'm downloading it now :)

I should've placed a copyright on that light positioning. Ah, well. :-P

Nice map, although it looks like a lot of jetting would be involved. You should make the spiderwebs darker; take the top-left, for example?from that overview I'd assume that the web appears cut-off in its upper-left area even though there may very well be polygons there. Just darken some of the webs a little; they'd look much better IMO.

Rainrider deserves some credit for this map, since it was his lighting tutorial that helped us make the shadow effects. Although i found a faster way of making them, but still, would've gotten lost at making them without his tutorial :)

Keron, the map would have been this way even if the light positioning hadn't been done by someone else: it was inevitable, given the map concept. :P

Thanks everyone for your comments :D

Edit: i also want to mention that the HTF version is supposed to have better gamaplay than the DM one, because in this one the fight has a bigger chance to be chaotically focused on the middle of the map. Although DMs are about chaotic fights, in HTF the FC will more likely run away from the center of the map and the game will then turn into "hide and seek" (which is the essence of HTF, imo).

Yep, the gameplay may be better in HTF, for the very reasons you mentioned. Too bad it's still unplayable in realistic, for the reasons I mentioned on Leo's forums.

I like the shading, the texture, and the cobwebs.
The eye thing in the center is kinda annoying.
Are those cobwebs from spider man?

Custom scenery for the lose. Please don't use ones like the scenery featured in this map next time. Keep SK's lights though :D

Hahaha! It actually feels as if you were a spider :D
Take away that triange in the middle..

We won't be editing this map any further. Me and OoO are on hiatus for a couple of weeks and won't continue mapping until late April.

And I'm sorry if the scenery offends you. We did everything in two days, which is less than enough time for us to completely elaborate on the map (SS_SoS took us two weeks, K_Casino took us a week and a half - both received much positive feedback). So yeah, this map may not be as successful, but OoO's main reason why we made this is because of the concept.
