To elaborate a bit more on this: Basically, I thought to go a bit old-school and try to do a dual-sided INF map ala Fortress, or the newer K-Casino. I'm not the greatest of mappers-- I'm still trying to learn how to improve, but I'm proud of this.
I shaded, I even tried some texture stretching, and tried a fun little shading method for the building too. From playing around with the map a bit and just generally exploring in Soldat, I've found no bugs... everything just seems nice. I think this is my best map yet :)
With the sceneries, only one did I 'make', and I didn't even really 'make' it. I do not claim to be the creator of any of the sceneries used in this map and, if the original creators wish for their works to be removed, I will gladly do so ASAP.
The only scenery I 'made' was the truck, and really that was taken from a Soldat CS map where the truck was made of polys. I simply switched the colors to fit the map scheme. So yeah, not taking any 'creatorship' over that either, and if the original creator of that map wants me to remove it, I gladly will.
As far as the story behind it goes, this is what I thought up:
A cold, rainy night. Team Bravo has met to discuss plans and reveal information about a weapon that has the potential to wipe out Team Alpha. Having found out about this, Team Alpha stages an infiltration mission: Castle Strike. Team Bravo must do what they can to protect the information regarding this weapon, or the Alphas may very well turn it right back at them.
Invading the area, Team Alpha members are dropped from the sky and dropped off by a truck hidden in the far east forest. Over in the western forest, a rendezvous point has been established, where stolen information bits can be transferred back to base. Beneath the 'castle', there is a single tunnel which links the eastern and western sides together underground.
Team Bravo must hunker down in the small 'castle', and do battle to protect their future, and ensure the demise of Team Alpha.
