There should be a pickup (like berserker, flame god or predator) which increases your running speed to 3x or 4x for 20 seconds or so. This would come in handy in ctf/inf matches, but as I said, like bsrk, fg or pred modes it would not pop up very often.

This would make a ctf/inf game very unfair.
Think about it, a guy gets the speed powerup runs into blue's base steals the flag and gets it back to red in under 20 seconds.

that is why you shoot people.

We already have that... it's called a connection problem...

20 seconds?! Five seconds may even be a bit much. With 20 seconds, you could score in ctf up to three times!

All in all this is a good suggestion. I just don't think it works in a game like soldat. Since soldat's so footwork based, it would simply be too much of an advantage. It would completely screw up the "physical laws" of the game. Maybe if it increased the speed by 50% there'd be soemthing too it, but I really think we should just leave this alone.

To be honest, this idea sucks for the reasons posted above.

hmm, its a good basis for an idea.

but i think it should be more like either:
2 x speed for 10 seconds
4 x speed for 5 seconds

or somthing close to that.

as for it making CTF unfair, umm, the hoast could just turn the powerup off!

I reckon saw users should get an increased speed, but not by too much.

That's just skill. Like mastering the otherwise useless backflip.
