i can try, but it'll probably be too thin as you said. it's a very complex weapon.

what weapon is it replacing?

by the way, Mecha Soldat's one kicka** mod, i'm building a complete mod also, with enhanced weapons and maps. a skinned version of polyworks is coming with it cuz original map maker sucks.

here's the link for my attempt at the gun. it's in PNG format seeing as BMP isn't supported for the internet. just open it up in paint and convert it to BMP, but change the file name to "6" as it replaces the ruger.

I think that is too long for good looking soldat gun. Its impossible to make good lookin gun of that im afraid.
