I was wondering what is the console code for starting and stopping the server if i were to remote admin the server?

if you mean like pausing the server its /pause and /unpause(i think)..or you mean something else..

well its stops everyone till the admin unpauses it.

so does it freeze them or shutdown the server and make it unavailible. also what about restarting the server?

To shutdown the server type 'SHUTDOWN' via Remote admin (make sure its all caps)

no, i am currently acting as a remote admin from a server my friend setup. how would i start and stop it when im all the way across the country?

if its a windows server use RPC or VNC to start it again.

Using ssh or some other method. Like you would start it up normally.
There is no other way to start a server.

I believe enesce made a web control script, but it is most likely linux only. Same goes for what KeFear said

With VNC you can take control over on a computer remotely. YOu can see the desktop and everything like you would sit in front of it.
