My stupid DVD RW Drive says its region 0. The problem is that all my DVDs are region 1. So I cant play them. Any ideas? I just did a firmware update. No luck.

Errr, I thought region 0 means region free, so your DVD Drive should be able to play your DVDs.

are you sure it is a region issue, not just a matter of having no DVD decoder installed?

Div-x is a good software to run DVD's so try that as your software.

They include codec packs, and i do think flies is right about the dvd decoder.

Yes, I tried on 3 different Dvd playing programs and with about 10 Dvds. Most of them game me a region error. Windows Media even opened the region settings hardware config for me.
