How can I make a site think I'm from US. Some regional setting in control panel?

They base it off of your IP address. You can change it with a proxy switcher. Google up "proxy switcher" and download a good looking program. This lets you do crazy things like participate in things that normally only let you do it once (like a poll (unless it based it on cookies)).
