I hate that thing. People come into the helpdesk with that thing instead of the normal start bar, making it a pain in the ass to fix their laptop in a reasonable amount of time

I use that, but only as a quicklaunch to the right. I still keep my normal taskbar. It's makes it easy when you need to load up some Remote Connections or files that you need to always load. Otherwise it's annoying and always in the way.

I don't have anything. No desktop icons or taskbar.
Windows key + R is the way to go. Along with alt+ tab as many times as needed.
