Yeah I read on some tuts that saving a map without compiling is a very bad idea. I was wondering if I had to compile the map even though I am not done finishing it. I just don't want to lose what I have made already.

Thx for your help.

It's a bad idea when you want to play the map cause you will fall through uncompiled polygons.
You dont have to compile a map (just save) if you want to work on it later.

In polyworks, and I guess mapmaker you can save the map for later. For polyworks its saved as a seperate copy so unless you go out of your way you cant really play that map until its compiled (f9) anyway. However in mapmaker you can since it saves to maps folder. Any polygons that havent been compiled you will fall right thru, and i believe mapmaker has a better compression rate for map file sizes than polyworks.

true, but polyworks compile function fixes almost every polybug, so it's worth the increased file size.
